Boston, . . . March 14. Last Monday evening the horrid
tragedy of the 5th of March was observed with the usual
solemnity . . . [16 lines, representations, with following
lines underneath]
Ye traitors! "Is there not some chosen curse,
Some hidden thunder in the stores of heaven,
Red with uncommon wrath, to blast the men,
Who owe their greatness to their country's ruin!"
At about half after nine o'clock, most of the bells in town
began to toll, and continued till ten, when the paintings
were taken in, and the company retired to their respective
places of abode.
